Sybaris-on-the-Gulf: Dubai's World islands

Post by lpetrich » Fri Feb 16, 2018 2:35 pm

Not the end of The World: the return of Dubai's ultimate folly | Cities | The Guardian
Underwater bedrooms, ‘Lohan Island’ and snow all year round – a decade after it was scuppered by the financial crash, the fantasy archipelago of 300 artificial ‘countries’ is back in business. Has anybody learned anything?
About all the business dealings and plans for that artificial archipelago off of Dubai's coast.

That artificial archipelago always looked weird to me. I guess it's neat that something like that can be done, but it's pretty unnecessary. At least that's how I feel, maybe I'm the weird one.

It is a business enterprise. If they can sell it, good for them. Apparently, the project did not go according to plan. They could not create the world as they created the Palm.
