I think that the Eastern Philosophers are totally self centred... and in this day of knowledge of the vastness of the Universe, it just doesn't cover the sense of awe... Hey! just taking a breath is magic.

But isn't the same true for anybody describing anything? The moment we slap and label on something, squeeze it into a simplified model to ease communication we've already killed the awe-frog. I don't think they're the worst offenders here.

The awe-frog is alive in eastern philosophy, we continue to discuss it even after thousands of years, where as the West knows exactly what it is. It is given in their books, where as we still say 'neti-neti' (not this, not that).

All of Eastern philosophy is self-centered? Even the vast wings of it that deny the existence of a self?
