It was a blocked catheter. New one in now and we are both more relaxed.

We both slept soundly and David has stayed asleep apart from when he had a bit of a cough and I gave him a drink. Then straight back to sleep again and looking so fragile but peaceful.

I enjoyed coffee with my cousins yesterday morning. It was good to see them and they also called up at the flat to see us both later in the day.

David again joined in the conversation a bit and flicked through TV channels to show them the high quality of the images.

Later on he wanted to watch an episode of Masterchef and he got very engrossed in the challenges, occasionally thinking he was one of the participants for a little while.

I've been offering though not pushing a little light refreshment: this is usually rejected.

Of an iced lolly he said.

"No", then furrowed his brow as he pondered the rationale for turning it down before explaining:-

"It might swim away, and then I'd have to run after it calling 'ping! ping!'"

A good enough reason I suppose. :d unno:

The day before yesterday I was copied into an email to him from a discussion board friend and I'm glad I was because he's no longer reading his own emails.

It was very complimentary and he was fair chuffed when I read it out to him.

When I returned from yesterday's outing he was telling the friend who was sitting with him about it, so I showed it to her and she read it to him again. She said that much of what had been written, about David's gentle knack of exposing people to new ideas, struck a strong chord with her.

David sleeping most of the day.

Sipping drinks a little.

I've asked a weekend doctor/nurse? to call - should be here soon.

The lady I spoke to on the phone was very kind.

A brighter day today and the waves rippling in (I'm not going to attempt to express it as well as Matthew Arnold).

Visitors yesterday evening and David livened up a lot, talking for the first time in ages about CEMG.

He slept well, as did I, woke thirsty, drank juice, water, tea, milk, a little of each and took the most important of his tablets before going back to sleep. We are expecting a visit from the McMillan nurse in about 45 minutes.

Relieved to hear that David is drinking more fluids. Maybe he's getting tired of having the damn catheter changed.

David and I had an email from David's former next door neighbours who also mentioned the webcam.

I've just had a look at it - seagulls flying over and I can see them from the window too.
