Since we've had a number of creationists who have joined SC, we decided it was appropriate to have a place for E vs. C discussions.

It's been my own experience that forums like this don't run well under strict civility rules, so we intend to allow more rough-and-tumble debating in here than we do in most other forums. The only place we'll be modding less stringently will be the Smoking Section; if threads in here turn into flamefests, or nothing but sermons interspersed with loud heckling, we'll move them to SS. But as long as there's some semblance of communication going on, and both sides are at least occasionally responding to what the other side has to say, we'll allow a certain amount of rudeness and crudeness. Good manners and civil exchanges are, as always, encouraged- but we will not be enforcing that as strictly as we do in other forums.

I'm leaving this thread open for general suggestions, questions, and clarifications from everyone. But this is not the proper venue for complaints about mod decisions or other posters; take those to the Reports&Complaints forum.

In the beginning Jobar created the Science and Stuff section. Now the section was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the account of Jobar was mulling around. And Jobar said, “Let there be a creation subforum” and there was a creation subforum. Jobar saw that the creation subforum was appropriate, and he laid down the ground rules. Jobar called the rules “civility” and the fighting he called “alright”.

Memo to self- create 'Praises and Hosannas' forum

Jobar is a false god. Our wonderful System Administrator, lpetrich, did the creation.

And here I thought it was the Trinity: Jobar the Face of God, DMB the Wisdom of God, and lpetrich the Hand of God.

So wheres me goddamned praises and hosannas forum already?

Funny how stuff like that can just slip your mind, and you don't even think of it for years, isn't it?



Unlike some creators, we who said "Let there be SC!" are not jealous gods, nor do we require any praise. So we aren't going to make a forum just for that. (However, if anyone wants to offer up an occasional 'well done!' or pat on the back, it wouldn't be taken amiss.)
