So what tunes do you have on at the mo?
Shaken, not stirred.
Nightclub, not beer joint.
My CD collection includes this one by Sir Douglas Quintet and also by its writer, Tom T. Hall.

I came across this on Youtube. The singer is just about perfect for this tune.

[quote=""espritch""]An interesting group from Ukraine. Cool music, cool hats!

That's a nice example of classic Slavic peasant singing. Modern Russian pop music has a lot of female groups that incorporate something of the same full-throated vocalism in their rock and rap songs.
The title of the piece, "Vesna", is "Spring".

Listening to this is like taking a dip in a swimming pool filled with estrogen.

I'm in the mood for some Chicago blues: Luther Allison's "Someday Pretty Baby".

This one can still be heard coming from the speakers at a grocery store near you.

I'm pretty sure I have linked this one before, but dang, the vocal harmony at 1:00.

My latest CD purchase has freight trains as its theme. Best track on it is 'Railroad Bill'.

One of my favorite Russian singers in Andrei Lenitsky. Since it is Autumn, I thought it might be appropriate to offer one of his best--Листья "Leaves".

I am rusty... but did think I got this right. From YouTube Vladimir Putin playing "Rasputin"
With apologies to Rie, whose link was broken, I found these possible replacements for what she had in mind--Copernicus.

I'm actually streaming audio from my favorite local radio station, WBER, the only station that matters. Currently, it is the "Boo" Wave Wednesday show (usually New Wave Wednesday), airing from 7-9am EST most weeks. It is an excellent listener-supported (thus commercial-free) alternative radio station. On Novermber 2nd and 3rd, they are doing their annual fundraiser, and usually do a marathon broadcast, staying on until they reach their goal. I've been in several markets across the country, and it is a pretty unique station.

In the pre-Internet days the best my ears could do was---
All my dollar bills seem to fly away
Then she looks at me as if to say
I imagined the singer being so infatuated with his girlfriend that he spent all his income on her. But the Net claims---
All my silent fears seem to fly away
And she smiled at me as if to say
