Good!
It's about time governments and law-courts woke up to the wastefulness of keeping people in the world who don't want to be here and can't contribute anything. I wish they had done it, all along, on humane grounds, but I'll settle for recognition of the ridiculous cost.

What does "regulate" mean? You can't take a religious body to court for telling blatant lies about the age of the world, or the creation of species, or parthenogenesis. Law-courts are just for obtaining money through deception or misrepresentation. Churches can tell all the lies they want,...

Some questions that occur: In what size of populations are they thinking of recreating these species? A couple dozen passenger pigeons, no problem... or at least maybe not a huge problem. In the hundreds of thousands - where are the acorns, hickories, beeches, and chestnuts to feed them? It's the sa...

It really doesn't matter about the stupid birds - they're going extinct anyway. I only mentioned that as an added advantage of a bladeless wind generator, that's quieter, more efficient and independent; hasn't any of the objectionable attributes of the those monster turbines along the lake-shore. I ...

[quote=""Hermit""]Yes, wind farms have contributed only 5.55% of the electricity generated in the USA in 2016. Had it been 100%, an extrapolation of the figures would result in 4.2 million bird deaths, still behind all other causes listed except for agricultural chemicals and sti...

The wind farm numbers are a bit deceptive, since there are not very many of them in place yet - compared to big stupid skyscrapers with their lights on all night. I question the agricultural chemical stats, as well: a lot of those are being used illegally and not reported, and I'm pretty sure they f...

A review First: As a sci-fi/action drama, Star Trek: Discovery is nearly unparalleled. The story is intense, the writing is engaging, the cinematography is gorgeous, the special effects are top-notch, the cast is convincing and the pacing is brisk. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/star-trek-discovery-...

It's a bad rip-off of the movie Galaxy Quest, which was a good parody of Star Trek. All this series lacks is the wit, the charm, the empathy for fans, and the excellent cast of Galaxy Quest. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0177789/combined
