I think societal process is for people who are presently participating in that society. People are put in prison to be temporarily (or in some cases permenantly) removed from society. The moment you allow prisoners to vote then you theoretically should be allowing people in France, Kenya, Russia etc...

Truth is there is no objective good or evil and there never has been. It is a completely human concept dreamed up in a vaccum. Theists who derrive their morality from religious sources do so in spite of this very fact.

A well developed morality, on the other hand, is intuitive - not perscribed.
